"I know it gets hard sometimes, but I could never,
[/color] Leave your side, no matter what I say."[/color] While roaming around the circus on his first night of being hired as the hair stylist, he decided upon himself that he would explore the area to get used to whats going on around here and whats not happening. As Apollo walked around, he saw the big top tent right infront of him. There is where some of his work would be seen by hundreds of people. The way he gets to style peoples hair is up to him, just as long as it's ok with the others. Apollo turned around and saw before him the circus. All of the games, rides, and weird people that come here to see the other weird stuff that happens here.
Since he didn't have to go to work yet, he decided that he was going to play a few games and maybe take a ride on the ferris wheel that seems to be the biggest and tallest ride there. Apollo then realized that all of the games were being played by other people, so he just started his treck over towards the ferris wheel. On his walk, he saw a few attractive people who seemed to notice him too. Maybe one of them would wander over and go on the ferris wheel with him? Apollo hasn't had that special partner in a while since he recently broke up with his old partner Marco. His ex had moved to Canada to take on his dreams. Apollo told him that they could stay friends, but it just wasn't going to work out anymore.
Now Apollo is looking for a new partner. As his mind was wandering off, he almost ran into the line of people waiting to get onto the ferris wheel. Even though he worked there, he wanted to be respectful to the others and wait in line for his turn. He watched the little boys and girls eat cotton candy and giggle with each other, but when they wern't paying attention, Apollo snagged some of the cotton candy and ate it for himself. Yes, he could be a rebel once in a while, but hated himself afterwards for it. He turned to look at the people walking by and he caught his breath, almost holding it. His parents were here. He didn't want them to see him, so he turned and put the hood up on his sweatshirt and tried his best to blend into the line of people. And it had worked. His parents walked away towards the bearded lady.
Once his parents had gone, he was almost to the front of the line and close to getting on the wheel. Apollo still didn't want to go alone, so he let a few people from behind him go infront of him. Will anyone go with him? He is terrified of heights. As a child, Apollo used to climb trees with his dad all the time, but the one time Apollo slipped from the branch, his dad had reached for him too late and he fell to the ground and had to go to the hospital because he had broken his wrist and was knocked out for a good few hours. So Apollo didnt really like heights, but he loved getting the fresh air that was at the very top of the wheel. The wind gently rippling through her hair. Her face coming to life. A blank mask upon the ride's start, and a visage exploding in color as the giant wheel made it's descent. It was a bit like a magic trick, Ainsley decided, making sure she'd had a car to herself to block out all unwanted distractions. After the first two times around, she was beginning to get annoyed. Jerry, the thoughtless oaf who'd somehow been given the responsibility of manning the ride, was doing a terrible job and kept allowing the wheel to come to grinding halts at various intervals. She'd made her rage known by shouting down to him several times, her pink mane fluttering about her narrow face like magnificent flames. "Jerry, could you fucking stop doing that?! I gotta get my make-up done for later and you're not helping!"
In all actual fact, it was pretty essential she get her make-up done to perfection. Her stoic, plastic surgeon father had asked her to dinner as he did every week and as usual she preferred to not look like a train wreck in front of his overly judgmental wealthy acquaintances. This is not working… She realized with aggravation. If Jerry kept up this shoddy work, she'd attempt later to speak with Ms. Baker about getting him fired. The ferris wheel should have been a smooth ride.
The sun beat down brilliantly so the young transvestite was fairly comfortable in very light clothing. She draped one skinny leg over the other and while the ride was fairly close to the littered ground, she attempting to regain her concentration. She positioned the hand-held mirror a little more carefully in a half-clenched palm and with a steady hand began working on the finishing touches of her make-up. It already looked fairly well done, despite having taken twice as long thanks to Jerry's careless handiwork.
Ainsley was smoothing a finger over her porcelain cheekbone when the ferris wheel came to a bulky, yet graceful stop. The door to her car automatically opened and she could see Jerry out of the corner of her eye gesturing her to get off. She'd had her three rounds all ready. However, she wasn't about to give him the satisfaction. She sneered at him and quickly pocketed her makeup compact as well as the few brushes she'd brought along for the ride. I don't think so… She thought to herself in an aggressive purr. Hastily she gestured to an attractive boy who was standing at the front of the line. He had thick dark hair and looked a bit lonely…He'd do fabulously! "Oooh, Hey gorgeous! I've been waiting for you all day!" she enthused, pretending as if she'd known him her entire life! "Get on up here handsome!!!!" She waved him over enthusiastically. "Come sit with me! I'm terrified of the way that mean Jerry operates this thing!"
Ainsley looked fleetingly over to Jerry and laughed to herself. He couldn't deny her another ride if there was someone she was sharing the car with.

"I know it gets hard sometimes, but I could never,
[/color] Leave your side, no matter what I say."[/color] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apollo continued to stand in line, when all of a sudden, he looked up and saw this woman putting on her makeup while going around on the wheel. He giggled softly to himself because he has done that once before because he forgot to his eyeliner that morning. Soon after the woman yelled at the man controlling the wheel, Apollo turned a little to look at the people again. He loved seeing who all came to the circus. The jocks, the freaks, and the geek squad. You never know who will show up.
Then all of a sudden, Apollo heard that woman yelling again, but it sounded more in his direction. "Oooh, Hey gorgeous! I've been waiting for you all day!" He looked around, and realized that she was talking to him. Not knowing this chick, he decided that he would go with her. At least he wasn't alone on this ride either. "Get on up here handsome!!!!" [/i]Apollo blushed a little. He hasn't been called handsome since he left his ex. [/color] "Come sit with me! I'm terrified of the way that mean Jerry operates this thing!" He walked up to the cart and sat next to the pink haired girl. She was very pretty and had cheekbones that could get her a job in a magazine. Once he sat, the guy backed away and started the ride again. Apollo held onto the bar that kept them in the cart. He looked at the girl again and decided that he would ask her why she wanted him to sit with her.
"Okay, so...why did you ask me to sit with you?" Apollo was very confused. He didn't have the slightest idea of who she is. At least he will get to know her now. And maybe she is a worker here at the circus, like himself. Looking at her face as he waited for a response, he couldn't help but look at how her makeup is done. It's as almost she is a makeup artist, but you never know. Everyone now a days wears makeup. So maybe she is just like everyone else. Apollo looked away and didn't even realize that they were at the top of the wheel when it stopped abruptly. "Damn it. Excuse you!!! Worker who works this damn wheel?! Yeah you! Watch what the hell your doing! Crazy fuck." Apollo didn't care that the girl next to him heard, but he didn't feel like dying before he even got to work. The only other time Apollo cursed at someone like this was when he was at his old job. He was cutting some womans hair when he over heard one of his co-workers talking about him behind his back saying that he did nothing around the salon. So he turned around and cussed her out and calling her a 'fat fuck' because she was the one who didn't do anything but take phone calls. Apollo made that mistake as the boss walked into the salon and heard him. She fired him after he finished cutting the womans hair. Now Apollo is the hair stylist at the circus. So he's going to have to get used to being around lazy people. Then that brought his attention back to the lady next to him. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] B E A U TY K I L L E R | [atrb=width,240] Her mother had always warned her from a very young age never to seduce men. She'd told her it was wrong and immoral and she'd end up glamorous (as was to be expected), yet terribly trashy and no one wanted a trashy girlfriend. And yet this was hardly seduction. This was her trying to get out of a dangerous fix with Jerry, who was bound to kill her if he kept up his terrible handing of machinery. Ainsley gestured a little more hurriedly to the dark-haired boy in front of her who the longer she looked at the more attractive she found. She smiled as warmly as she could as he got closer and latched onto his arm with a finely manicured hand.
The cart rocked gently as her new companion stepped on with her and she gestured for him to sit down. Quickly and with a flourish she sat down herself and flipped the vibrant hair out of her faux-blue eyes. The boy seemed confused as to why she'd invited him onto the ride so she figured she'd tell him both truths as to why she'd picked him out of everyone in that crowded line. "Well" She began, her voice thick with good-natured attitude, "Honestly, I wasn't able to enjoy my first three times around. See, I was kinda doing my make-up for a dinner later with my father, but Jerry back there" Here she gestured first towards her makeup compact and brushes, and then towards the controls, "Sucks at doing his job. And I JUST finished perfecting this!" She ran her palm over the side of her face and grinned through the plastic mask of powdered skin.
Ainsley gently placed a hand on the boy's upper leg in a comforting, exploring motion. "Thought I'd enjoy this time around…" Here she smirked mischievously and ran nimble fingers through her hair. "Glad you decided to join me. You really are fucking gorgeous, honey. Love your hair!" She thought a moment and leaned a bit closer as the wheel began spinning them slowly up to the sky. The warmth of the day was radiating up off the blacktop and yet with the faint breeze that rippled through the fairgrounds, she found herself comfortable.
In all honesty, this dinner with her father in a few hours was making her nervous. She had no idea why, but they always did. She felt as if she were young again, and under the constant scrutiny of living at home. His friends, though they obviously saw nothing wrong with body modifications, found her lifestyle a bit odd and would often stare. And yet wasn't that what she wanted? Didn't she love the attention? Sometimes even Ainsley herself wasn't entirely sure. Without thinking, she slipped her hands under her skinny thighs and hugged them to her upper body, looking curiously up at her companion. The ride rocked violently, coming to a harsh halt at the top of the wheel and the boy took the opportunity to yell down to Jerry in rage.
Ainsley found herself absolutely cracking up. She let out the most obnoxious of laughs and leaned her vibrant head close to the boy's shoulder. "OH MY GOD!!!! YES! That's what he's been doing ALL this whole time!!!!!! We need to get him fired!!!! Honestly, I'm gonna tell Ms. Baker about him, I swear…" She let her voice fade out, realizing just how loud she'd gotten in response to her companion's own raised voice. "So" She bounced back up into a regular sitting position, "Why'd you decide on the Ferris Wheel? You escaping the crowds too?" I'm Ainsley by the way! What'chu call yourself honey? 'Less you'd prefer Handsome?

"I know it gets hard sometimes, but I could never,
[/color] Leave your side, no matter what I say."[/color] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apollo listenen to her story about how she is going to have a dinner with her father. He thought about it and he wouldn't want to look bad infront of his parents either, even though he doesn't really like to see his parents, only because his parents poke fun at him for being gay. They always wanted to have a straight boy who could give them children, but that doesn't mean he can't give them a baby boy or girl. He can always adopt or get someone to birth a chilr for him. That's why he avoids them at all costs. She also pointed out that the guy running this ferris wheel does suck at his job. He already had to yell at him once.
As Apollo got a reply for his question, he felt the girls hand exploring the upper part of his theigh. He smiled as she said that he was gorgeous. He missed being called this. "Thanks, but i think the only one here who is gorgeous is you. I love the way you face is painted. B-E-A-Utiful." There was nothing that was wrong with her. It seemed like she should be a barbie doll or a model on a runway. She was just perfect.
He heard the lady next to him yell with him as he yelled. He then realized that he was yelling in public and swearing. Apollo quickly shut his mouth and sat in the cart looking at the lady. Her hair was a flawless pink color. Looked just like the cotton candy sold down at the cart. And her eyes were a bright blue. He didn't know if they we're real or not, so it is best to not ask. She might get offended. And the way she did her makeup was perfect. Her cheek bones we're highlighted perfectly and her lips were very full. Those are the kind of lips that are what the public would call 'kissable'.
When asked about why he choose the ferris wheel, he shrugged. "I guess. The ferris wheel was also the last place my parents loved me. So it's like if I go on the ferris wheel, I'll have the moment of love again." He didn't think he would open up to this woman who calls herself Ainsley. It's a pretty name. He hasn't heard that name since he was at his old job. He had a clinet who came in every so often to get a new dew and keep him up on his skills. He chuckled when she asked is he would rather be called honey or handsome. "Handsome sounds good to me." He winked at her and smiled again. "And people around here call me Apollo." The wheel slowly started moving again and he sighed with relief. Then he asked another question. "So what brings you here to the circus?" Apollo really kind of want to know because maybe she works here at the circus with him. Who knows. Maybe she is just here for the fun of the rides and food and games. m a s c a r a & m i s t a k e s vanity's like a funeral and everyone's at my wake.
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] B E A U TY K I L L E R | [atrb=width,240] Ainsley imagined her father sitting rigidly in front. Her stepmother to the left. Several acquaintances scattered about her sides. The horror of having to wear respectable clothing. At least her made up face would hide the rage and annoyance she felt for her overbearing father. She debated skipping out. This boy was definitely a far better companion than her parents, but she figured quite plainly she couldn't stay atop the ferris wheel all day. And once the circus started traveling about she wouldn't have the opportunity to see her family. May as well milk them for their money while she still had the chance.
She smiled at the boy's response to her exploring palms, and pressed a manicured hand to her mouth, letting out a soft flirtatious laugh. "Awww, you are so sweet!" she enthused, enthralled by the fact he'd spoken so highly of her. "Yeah, i'm surprised this make-up turned out so well…The car was, like, jerking around and my hand could have slipped!!! I avoided disaster thank GAWD!" Her voice rose in excitement and she pressed her thin back against the wall of the car, feeling her thin top stick unpleasantly to the metal.
Ainsley smiled to her companion, glad she'd chosen him over the others in line. Since both of them had made their rage known to Jerry, the ride seemed to be moving a bit smoother, though Ainsley was still under the impression she needed to inform Ms. Baker about his lack of professional skills. Any ride conductor should have put his riders' safety first, and with the amount of quick and jerky stops, the young transsexual was sure that was not the case. No, it was clear Jerry hated his job and wanted to be done with it as quickly as possible, stopping the giant wheel every quarter of a rotation so others could board. It was what Ainsley's father would call "utterly unprofessional" in that monotonous, cold voice of his.
They were now angling off to the side and Ainsley noted how fairly low the sun had sunk. It hung in the cloudless sky like a dangling christmas ornament, a ball of blinding white light. She closed her eyes a moment and took in the faint breeze that fluttered through her bright hair, nodding in response to her new friend's talk about ferris wheels. She frowned and opened her eyes, faintly startled. Leaned forward, brushed her fingers against the others'. "Last place they loved you?" She felt a pain well up in her chest. Sure, sometimes she loathed her parents and questioned their mindsets, but she couldn't imagine feeling absolutely no love from her father and step-mother. (No love means no money!) "How do you mean they don't love you anymore? Were you a kid or something? What happened?" Her eyes widened in sudden rage.
She'd never understood how parents could stop showing affection to their children. Wondered momentarily if it could be from a sexuality issue. This boy had too fabulous of a wardrobe to be straight. Her voice sunk to a light whisper. "Is it cuz you like boys?" She questioned, her gaze hardening and her fingertips pressing a bit more forcefully into her companion's skin. "Cuz if so, i have a huge problem with that…"
A few pulsing moments passed and Ainsley felt a smile pull at her glossy lips. He had a nice name. "Is that Greek or Roman or something? Sounds really hot" She purred and raked her claws through her long, curled locks. "Well, Handsome. Guess I'll be calling you Apollo then…At least in public." She smiled coyly and crossed one lanky leg over the other, the thick web of tattoos blending together in a mass of her friend, Tabby's, artistic vision.
"I actually work here, sadly enough." Ainsley informed him, "Though it pays well and I've met some really crazy people. I do makeup." She gave a light laugh and waved her hand around, "And not just mine. I do mostly the acrobats 'n stuff. I think the clowns are in charge of their own…" (Never wanted to be associated with clowns). "At the moment, I've been coming here early in the morning and staying in an apartment with my friend, Tabby; course that'll change when this whole thing starts going on the road." She grinned, "Kinda like being on tour I guess. Cept we're less famous and freaking' family friendly."
Ainsley rattled on about her first few days working for the circus before inching closer and nudging Apollo with the toe of a high-heeled shoe. "How bout you, Handsome? You just passing through or are you one-a us?"

"I know it gets hard sometimes, but I could never,
[/color] Leave your side, no matter what I say."[/color] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apollo smiled as she replied to his comments, but when it came down to it, she asked about his parents not loving him anymore. He knew that it wasn't a good subject to bring up to someone that he just met. That's the problem with Apollo. He tends to trust to many people to quickly. It's the one thing that he wishes that he could change because as he grew up, he let people walk all over him. And he has gotten sick of it, but he just can't get over the fact that he is the way he is. And trusting people to quickly is what he does. Now he has to explain more to Ainsley about his parents, but he doesn't have a problem with it. He actually likes this chick. It seems like she understands him. "Well it's just that the last place i really felt like they cared about me is when they took me to a circus. We went on the ferris wheel when i was about 16 and it was one of the best memories i had of them." Apollo's parents we're the rich type. If something doesn't go their way, they just pretend like they didn't hear it, most of the time, but Apollo's parents just tend to not agree with the way he lives now. Yeah they still give him money in his back account once in a while, but thats all they do. They don't show and love towards him anymore.
"But later that day, when we were walking around, i saw another boy walking atound and i said out loud that he was hot. My parents heard me and then, well the love was gone." Apollo sighed. "All because im gay. Its like...i cant help how i feel about people. Its love. You can't stop someone from loving what they love." He is all frazzled now and took off his sunglasses and hung them from his shirt. He didn't have anything else to say about his parents. He was already pissed off about them, and the fact that they are walking around here just makes him cringe. Are they here for the rides or are they here just to poke fun at him more? He looked over at Ainsley and grabbed her hand. "How have you had a problem with this since i shared with you?" He winked at her and smirked a little at the corner of his lips.
Apollo giggled quietly at her question about his name. "If i remember correctly, Its both roman and greek. Apollo had the same name in both cultures or whatever they are." He laughed because he felt stupid. He cant believe he remembered that, but you never know when someone is going to ask about you name. So he basically had to know.
He looked at her and kind of figured that she worked here. She was a pro at the makeup she does. And he is glad because now he has at least one friend here that he can talk to and gossip with about the people who work at the circus. When she asked him why he was here, he smiled. "Oh girl your going to love this answer. I work here too. I was just hired as the hair stylist for the performers and what not. So it looks like we will be seeing each other a lot." He nudged her back with his elbow and let go of her hand so he could check his phone. He had to make sure that his parents haven't texted him, plus, he didn't want to hold hands anymore because his hand was getting cramped. Apollo hoped he didn't offend her for not holding her hand anymore. m a s c a r a & m i s t a k e s vanity's like a funeral and everyone's at my wake.
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] B E A U TY K I L L E R | [atrb=width,240] Ainsley could feel the muscles pull together behind her painted on brows. Knitting against her forehead into a pained expression. There was something so incredibly sad in hearing that this boy in front of her had lost his parents' love and affection simply because of his sexual orientation. It was something the young transexual found heartbreaking and completely irrational. Her parents, though distant and overly professional sometimes, never looked down upon Ainsley for being gay. Even went farther than most parents and referred to as a "she" as she preferred. As far as her mind worked, sex and gender were two very different things. Sex referred to genitalia. Gender was the title she most strongly identified with. It just so happened most people were comfortable with being of the same sex and gender. Love, however was one. Love was universal. Strong affections towards another person. A brush of fingertips. Explorative lips. Searching eyes. A creeping warmth. It was a delicious feeling, being in love. And in Ainsley's mind it was not at all pinned down to one gender or sex. Anyone and Everyone could experience it. Everyone was human weren't they?! It pained her incredibly knowing others could be so narrow-minded.
She sighed and put a porcelain hand against her companion's cheek. Taking in a shaky breath, she finally spoke her thoughts aloud. "Yeah, baby, that's absolutely disgusting! I would avoid them like the fucking plague if I were you." She bit her lip and shook her head, "I agree with you so much. You love someone for lots of things, regardless if they have tits or not. I don't understand it at all. We all have feelings. If a guy compliments you, it's still gonna be a compliment. It's still gonna make you feel good…" Her voice trailed off lightly and she blinked back a wave of sorrow for Apollo, resisting the urge to go into a diva-fit, as her stepmother called it.
Ainsley lightly squeezed Apollo's hand in comfort as he took hers and gave him a smile at his question. Well, she'd definitely had enough of her own sorrows regarding her sexuality and being accepted. "I guess it was mainly in school…" She remarked, "Lots of boys don't like the gay kids, but put make-up and dresses that even the girls don't wear on top of it and you're pretty much screwed.", She gave a tiny laugh and shook her head at the vague memories. "I just remember being terrified to be myself. At first after my mom died and my dad hooked up with Lana, my stepmom, she would like, freak out at me about how gay I was…Like it really mattered to Her." She paused a moment as a realization occurred to her, "Know what I think 'Pollo? I think that people get freaked out that we're gay cuz they're afraid of how it looks on THEM! No one wants to be "friends with the gay kid" or "mom or dad to the gay kid"…No one wants to be different. No one wants to be anyone who may not fit in with everyone else. Everyone wants to be a fucking clone…"
She snarled at the thought and rocked her weight back, feeling the ferris wheel car jostle slightly under their bodies. "I used to hate it. Being who I was. The shit some of those kids said. I used to cut myself pretty badly. I'd come home from school feeling so numb and not worth anything. Though eventually I met my really good friend, Tabby and she helped me out of it. Told me that cutting myself was only doing what the bullies wanted. She really gave me my attitude to be honest…I don't think I would have survived High School without her…" She shook the mane of bright hair out of her eyes and tried to break herself from the trance of her past.
It was interesting to find out about her companion's name. It definitely suited him. Ainsley made a mental note to look up it's probably very exotic meaning when she was in a better location to interact with her precious phone. As he released her hand from his grip, she ran her fingers through her hair and pushed the curls up over her bony shoulders. She felt an excitement well up in her stomach as Apollo mentioned that he too worked at the circus! Ainsley bounced up in her seat and wrapped her skinny tattooed arms around his shoulders in happiness. "O-M-G! This is fabulous! You do my hair and I'll do your makeup!" She enthused with a cackle. "Gawd, I'm so glad you work here too! I'll finally have someone to rant to about those bitch acrobats."
The ferris wheel was now nearing it's conclusion and Ainsley peered over the edge with a sneer to Jerry. She slowly slung her purse's strap into the crook of her elbow and grinned at Apollo. "Looks like Jerry's gonna stop the ride soon…I still have like an hour to kill before I go to my dad's…You care trying another ride with me, Handsome? Your pick."
